But for on-the-go girls (or just snack enthusiasts, in general), there are much healthier eats to bite into. And we’re not talking just fruits and veggies.

In celebration of National Snack Food Month, her sweat. founders Adelle and Niki did the leg work around a few supermarkets to snatch up the healthiest snacks they could find. Here’s the scoop from nutritional value to taste on the small eats they nibbled on.

Snack: Van’s Country Ranch Crackers
Store: Target
Price: $3
Taste tester: Niki
Pass or trash the bag?: PASS!

Knowing these bite-sized crackers are baked with oats, quinoa and all the other stuff you probably should be squeezing into your diet makes the guilt of eating more than five quickly disappear. Added bonus: the flavor is a lot less overwhelming than ranch Doritos and is pretty tasty with either salsa or dip.

Snack: Bakeology Snickerdoodle Crunchy Cookie Bites
Store: MOM’s Organic Market
Price: $6
Taste tester: Niki
Pass or trash the bag?: TRASH.

These ‘doodles do nothing for my sweet tooth. I copped them in an effort to indulge healthily when my sugar cravings hit, but they sort of just dissolve in my mouth with zero satisfaction. Maybe it’s the coconut oil or the organic tapioca starch, but these bad boys are just… bad.

Snack: Quinn White Cheddar $ Sea Salt Popcorn
Store: MOM’s Organic Market
Price: $5
Taste tester: Niki
Pass or trash the bag?: PASS!

Besides buying a second Black Panther ticket, sneaking this bag of tiny, puffy delights into the theater was my greatest idea (don’t try this at home, kids!). It’s quite the interactive experience to prepare the snack—first you pop, then you pour in the sunflower oil then sprinkle in the white cheddar—but it’s dope to watch your healthy eats come to life. Gluten free and whole grain, it beats the greasy bucket of yellow kernels at any AMC. Trust.

her-sweat-snacks-broccoli-florets

Snack: Trader Joe’s Crispy Crunchy Broccoli Florets
Store: Trader Joe’s
Price: $3
Taste tester: Adelle
Pass or trash the bag?: PASS!

When I was a lil’ ‘Delle, my favorite snack was my grandma’s breadcrumb-covered broccoli. It was a such an easy treat to whip up and also satisfied the broccoli addict that I am while adding the necessary crunch and flavor that took a green veggie from blah to boom! While my greedy tastebuds could have used less crumbs at the bottom of the bag and more heartier pieces, I definitely tore this up as a pre-dinner snack. If you need a break from kale chips, these broccoli florets can sub in.

her-sweat-enlightened

Snack: Enlightened Ice Cream in Chocolate Peanut Butter
Store: Duane Reade
Price: $6
Taste tester: Adelle
Pass or trash the bag?: PASS!

When I’m being lenient on my aspiring vegan diet limitations, I indulge on dairy sparingly and this post-meal desert is hardly a guilty pleasure. Marketed as 90 calories per serving (360 per pint) with high protein and high fiber, this ice cream is light on the tummy and won’t break the scale or bank plus tastes exactly as the flavor describes.

her-sweat-snacks-inner-peas

Snack: Inner Peas
Store: Trader Joe’s
Price: $2
Taste tester: Adelle
Pass or trash the bag?: PASS!

I’m a sucker for baked veggie chips and a good pun for a brand name! This crispy, airy delight showcases peas in my favorite form. The pea flavor isn’t overpowering either and the crunchiness of each chip makes going through an entire bag (120 calories per serving) a breeze.

her-sweat-snacks-chickpeas

Snack: Trader Joe’s Ranch Seasoned Crispy Chickpeas
Store: Trader Joe’s
Price: $3
Taste tester: Adelle
Pass or trash the bag?: PASS!

Like the packaging, I became a squirrel harvesting these chickpea treats once I popped a few in my mouth. I am a chickpea magnet so any time I get my hands on savory, flavor-y and crispy chickpeas, I keep it on the low so no one asks me to share. Why do you think the photo of this snack is an empty bag? 🙂
